Redesigning Nonprofit Email Marketing

SalesCraft was hired in 2019 to redesign and upgrade the outdated Salesforce classic into a renovated Lightning UI with increased functionality, efficiency, speed, and powerful data management processes. Our focuses include wide ranging automation mechanisms, expanded system usership, and improved user accessibility.  Through our partnership, NEXUS has launched new products, grown substantially, and has fully utilized their Salesforce capabilities.

NEXUS puts the hope and promise of young people on the world stage by bringing together leaders at regional NEXUS events for inspiration, education, dialogue, and collaborative problem solving.

Business Challenges


Data Management


Internal users had difficulty managing confidential donor and member information and effectively creating an automated email marketing strategy to build interest and to report engagement. NEXUS was stagnated by outdated software and information stored across a myriad of third-party data storage and management platforms to manage email outreach campaign stratagem and member record lists.

Multiple misconfigured data streams led to thousands of duplicates that littered and congested the pre-existing company Salesforce classic system. As a result, company email campaigns were inhibited by duplicates of member contact info which severely constrained event planning, email marketing and fundraising campaigns. A massive deduplication effort was needed to overhaul, clean, & manage these issues.

NEXUS did not have a unilateral and comprehensive platform for which members/employees of the company could run all tasks through. The NEXUS team required a transition to the Lightning platform and custom application development to model their business processes in order to fully capitalize on their Salesforce environment.



Revenue Growth

Generated a gross total of over 2.5 million dollars in donations representing 75% year on year growth since initiation of services.

Application Development

We developed and designed a point of sale system to facilitate registrations and services purchases. 

Generated a custom HTML form that integrates with ‘Stripe’. Built out a subscription system which splits payments into quarterly allotments.

Increased Donor Engagement

Event size growth grew three-fold since the introduction of a newly implemented email marketing tool.
